Routledge have just published a new book Industrial Relations in Education Bob Carter, Howard Stevenson and Rowena Passy.
The book is based on work undertaken for the ESRC funded project Workforce Remodelling, Teacher Unions and School Based Industrial Relations. It is the most comprehensive study of labor relations in English schools since the study in the mid 1990s by Roger Seifert and Mike Ironside.
Many SIG members will be familiar with this work as different aspects of it have been presented at SIG sessions at AERA in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
